Abstract :
Recently, several methods were proposed to accelerate lattice Boltzmann computing. In this paper, we present a multicore scheme to accelerate a lattice Boltzmann model and the two-dimensional backward-facing step flow system is taken as an example to show the powerful capability of the multicore computing. The parallel algorithm has been implemented in Visual studio C++ 2005 augmented with calls to OpenMP functions. The comparison results show that the multicore computing is a promising tool for solving computing-intensive and data-intensive problems in CFD.
