Abstract
Moving mesh methods are becoming increasingly popular for several kinds of parabolic and hyperbolic partial differential equations (PDEs). In this paper, we develop a moving mesh method based on minimizing energy function with upwinding schemes and provide a moving mesh algorithm for time-dependent PDEs. Numerical experiments are carried out to demonstrate the efficiency and robustness of the proposed methods.
