Abstract :
Various optical connectors have been developed during the 25 years since fiber-optic communications systems were first put into practical use. In subsequent years, new connection technology fields, high power transmission issues and on-board wiring were of concern. This paper describes the technical background and recent issues related to photonic connection technologies.
