Abstract :
The recent progress in functional filters and switched using microring resonator is reviewed. The hitless wavelength selective switch element using series coupled microring resonator can be a building block of multi-wavelength switch matrix with large scale integration and will play an important roll in the next generation optical cross-connect utilizing wavelength routing.
