Abstract :
One-dimensional nanobeam lasers in which the width of waveguide is parabolically tapered are explained in detail. In the vicinity of the tapered region where Gaussian photonic well is formed, a few high-Q resonant modes are experimentally confirmed. It is also found that the far-field radiation profile is closely associated with the symmetry of the structure.
