Abstract :
Mn, Cu, Zn and Fe in rain samples collected in Jiaozuo city were measured by AFS, to evaluate the level of heavy metals in precipitation and the concentration variety of the month, then to presume the source of them, basing on the comparison of domestic and foreign cities and enrichment factor calculations. Individual rain events were sampled form April to September 2008. High heavy metals concentration indicates serious heavy metal pollution in precipitation. Mn, Fe and Cu were main heavy metals pollution elements in precipitation. Their volume-weighted mean concentrations of precipitation were 63.71μg/L, 95.71μg/L and 186.76μg/L respectively, much higher than other cities. The concentration of Zn was 66.67μg/L, equal to the domestic cities and Japan, higher than Germany and France. The monthly concentration of Mn, Fe and Zn varied significantly form April to September. The weather conditions were the main reason. The variations of Cu concentrations were not obvious, indicating that the pollution sources were steady or less affected by weather conditions. Mn of precipitation was enriched significantly and Cu and Zn of precipitation were terribly enriched. The higher Enrichment Factor of the heavy metals in Jiaozuo city from April to September in 2008 inferred that they were mainly from anthropogenic sources, such as construction, vehicular emissions, industrial process and incinerator.
