Abstract :
This paper proposes a voice recognition method for Thai voice based on impulse response of Finite Impulse Response (FIR) system. The FIR system characterizes the distinguish feature of Thai vowel. Then FIR system can be realized by considering the Mel-scale frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC) obtained from the consonant and vowel in particular windows of the voice as the input and the output of the system, respectively. The obtained impulse response of the FIR system is used as feature parameter to recognize Thai vowel. Finally, Thai vowel can be recognized by evaluating the similarity between the reference and the feature parameter to be recognized using Dynamic Programming (DP) matching. It was shown from the experimental results that the recognition rate in the proposed method is better than the conventional method.
