Abstract
Encoded video streaming of Variable Bit rate (VBR) are attractive from the service provider´s point of view because of good video quality, constant service provision etc. But in demanding periods, data burst of VBR streams causes network congestion. As a solution, Constant Bit Rate (CBR) streams implementation in communication networks growing significantly because of simple management, easy admission control and good bandwidth allocation. Unlike the wire network, wireless channels can never guarantee an extra bandwidth to such unenviable facts due to limited frequency spectrum and most of all interference. In this paper we have made an attempt to investigate the effect of time varying bandwidth of a wireless channel (Bluetooth and WiFi) on data loss of Constant Bit Rate (CBR) video streams. A detailed model is presented here along with results by using professional software.
