            Abstract : 
A low profile folded monopole antenna has been proposed for multi-functional wireless communications handsets. The proposed antenna is capable of operating at GSM (880 ~ 960 MHz), DCS (1710 ~ 1880 MHz), PCS (1850 ~ 1990 MHz), UMTS (1920 ~ 2170 MHz), WiBro (2300 ~ 2390 MHz), Bluetooth (2.42 ~ 2.48 GHz), S-DMB (2.630 ~ 2.655 GHz), and WLAN (5.1 ~ 5.37, 5.75 ~ 5.9 GHz) frequency bands. Multiple resonators have been connected in parallel in a compact configuration to realize the miniaturized internal antenna for modern multi-standard handsets. The antenna has been designed within a volume of 0.43 cm3 that makes it suitable for ultra-thin mobile terminals. Radiation performances and return loss characteristics of the prototype antennas are in agreement with the numerically predicted results.
