Abstract
This paper presents an improved approach to analyze the stability of the digital closed-loop control systems under finite word-length (FWL) effects. This approach can effectively evaluate the least bits that the digital controllers should be implemented to preserve the stability of the closed-loop systems. The conservativeness in the stability analysis in terms of word length can be released by using normal-form transformation. Finally, the numerical simulations will be provided to verify the proposed approach.
