Abstract
A reduction of the Poisson noise with MAP estimation for diffuse optical tomography is introduced. Time-resolved data are modeled as a Markov process. Noise-free time-resolved data which maximize a posterior probability are estimated. By numerical simulation, it is found that the proposed noise reduction reduces the artifacts in the reconstructed DOT images.
