Abstract
This study explains about the Japanese language proficiency index for Koreans using N400 mismatch response. We considered that N400 potential responds to presentation of erroneous grammar of Japanese language in accordance with the learning level of the Japanese language. Japanese and Korean have the same word order of subject, nominative particle and verb, and the nominative particle determines whether to use intransitive verb or transitive verb. Therefore, sentences with the same meaning in the Japanese and Korean languages were prepared, converted into those with correct grammar and erroneous grammar, and presented to students from Korea to measure the brain waves. As a result, N400 potential significantly responded when an erroneous grammar was presented. In addition, the Korean language showed a larger response than Japanese.
