Abstract :
Elderly people living in isolated islands and remote area have difficulties to have sufficient nursing care services due to the lack of human and physical resources. Tele-care system is expected to overcome these problems. We proposed two kinds of tele-care systems for an isolated Goto island in Nagasaki prefecture. One is a community size watching system and the other is a private size watching system. A distinguished advantage of these systems is that the watching target is sensing and communication devices as well as elderly persons. To achieve efficient watching of elderly, various kinds of monitoring devices such as bed sensor, toilet sensor and image sensor were developed. The applicability of these tele-care systems were tested in Goto Island.
