Assessment system design for university web-based learning

As an innovative learning method, web-based learning has gain increasingly attention by both of the instructors and the students. However, the assessment system involved in web-based learning is still far from perfect. According to the principles of university web-based learning, which focus on the learning process, diversification of evaluation methods and evaluation objects, this study builds an indicator system with the aim of promoting the quality of web-based learning. The indicator system includes four primary assessment indicators: process, teaching contents, support & services and ability. The secondary and tertiary indicators are set to reflect the characteristics of university web-based learning.
