Abstract :
A technical framework of DCT-based vector data compression is proposed for handling larger vector dataset and faster transportation. Dynamic partitioning approach is applied to partition the vector data to be compressed into sets of items in order to prevent from side effect of unchangeable N value. DC coefficient and AC coefficient is encoded with Differential Pulse Code Modulation and Run Length Encoding respectively. Experiment results show that the algorithm is fairly good in efficiency, and the algorithm is very simple.
