Abstract :
In order to meet the rapid development of embedded video surveillance, a real-time moving object detecting system based on SOPC(System On a Programmable Chip) technology is proposed in this paper. An improved algorithm based on combination of frame difference and edge detection is presented for moving object detection. Experimental results show the improved algorithm overcomes the shortcomings of the frame difference method. It has high recognition rate and high detection speed, so it has a broad market prospect.
