  • Abstract
A near-field planar array of pyramidal horn antennas for plane-wave synthesis has been investigated. The array consists of 4×4 pyramidal horns with elements spacing equal to the size of horn aperture. The frequency is 35 GHz and the horn aperture size is 3.8λ×3.8λ. The element weightings are determined by a near-field synthesis technique, which optimizes the uniformity of the field throughout a test volume in near field of the array. The array near field is computed from aperture field by the equivalent magnetic current concept. The near-field computational results have been analyzed.
