Abstract :
Advancements in dielectric and bonding materials have brought feasibility to develop new structures of lightweight antennas. Such antennas made with printed circuits on dielectric foils, feature dimensioning suitable for antenna elements operating between 200 MHz and 6 GHz. In the paper, we describe circular patch elements made with self-bearing approach. Dielectric foils are bind with foil straps bonded inner foil surfaces. The design process of such antennas make use of electromagnetic and mechanical models analysed numerically.
