Abstract :
This paper presents a one-unit-cell wideband ENG (Epsilon Negative) ZOR (Zeroth-Order Resonant) antenna designed on a microstrip line. It employs a mushroom structure with multiple vias. The size of antenna is only 7.83 × 1.23 × 2.37mm (or 0.29 × 0.05 × 0.09λ0 at 11.24GHz) owing to zeroth-order resonance. Closed-form design equations are provided based on the equivalent circuit using transmission line theory considering radiation effects. The measured 10dB return loss bandwidth is about 24.02% at 11.24GHz and total gain is 4.8dBi.
