Abstract :
A method was proposed combining with 3DS MAX and Vrmlpad to build VRML scene of Virtual Campus. First with 3DS MAX we model the North Two part of Capital Normal University, then using Vrmlpad to aided modeling and editing the exported. wrl file. Meanwhile, to optimize the file and speed up the surfing of the internet, some techniques are studied in both model and code such as using billboard and the VRML DEF and USE nodes, etc. This paper focuses on interaction in Virtual Campus, and the Virtual Campus implement two approaches of interactive styles in VRML, that is, VRML sensor nodes and script nodes. Sensor nodes used include touch sensor, Proximity Sensor and Visibility Sensor. Moreover adding sound effects and video clips increases realistic. Implementing script nodes could reduce code amount and logic of event route is more definite and easy to control. Connecting with teaching system obtains some teaching information by anchor node. Applying proto node which encapsulates model and actions of person introduces person interaction.
