Abstract :
The vehicle detection is severely affected by the shadow in the car body testing. This paper presents a fast algorithm for separation and extraction of the body by analyzing the characteristics of the shadow contour, According to the contour feature of shadow model´s horizontal and vertical direction and the size of interior angle in curve, we can use the algorithm to find the feature points of the body boundary, then separate and extract the body. Image and data analysis results show that the algorithm is accurate and good enough to meet requirement of the real-time vehicle identification system.
