Abstract :
A complexion-based face detection algorithm is proposed. Firstly, an inputted image is transformed to Ycbcr color space. Its illumination is compensated. Gaussian complexion model is used to detect face. Each complexion field is detected to be face field or not by the oval rule. A face detection platform is constructed with the proposed algorithm to detect face from video streams in real time. Experiment results show that face detection rate is above 90% under normal illumination conditions, and is above 85% under dark illumination.
