Abstract :
In this paper we investigate transmit antenna selection for the downlink of a multi-cell multi-user generalized DAS (GDAS). The unique of our work lies in the integral consideration of the following points: 1) A multi-cell multi-user system is considered, where signals can be jointly processed within each cell and signals from other cells are treated as interference; 2) To be practical, spatial fading correlation is assumed among antennas in the same antenna cluster; 3) Only large-scale channel state information (CSI) is used in the antenna selection; 4) Transmit antenna selection is to maximize an ergodic sum capacity upper bound of the system. Based on the four points, an antenna selection criterion is proposed. Simulation results show that our selection criterion promises noticeable performance.
