Tectonic stress and fault are main geological factors that influence the coal mining subsidence characteristics. In order to understand the control effect of different scale fault on mining subsidence characteristics, and improving prediction accuracy, in this paper, using FLAC3D, coupling model of compressive tectonic stress and small scale concealed adverse fault is established, the relation of fault fall and surface subsidence is studied by simulative mining. The experimental results show that, after coal-seam being mined, the scope of compressive stress would increase with the development of the fault fall in the coal wall of open-off cut, when the area of extensive stress increase near the strata of fault pinch-out place. The subsidence gap of upper and lower wall would increase with the development of fault fall, when in the strata near fault pinch-out place, the gap decreases. There is a positive correlation between the maximum subsidence and the fault fall bearing in coal and overlying strata.
