  • Abstract
    Speed is a distinctly important factor during the papermaking, its control will directly affect the quality and quantity of paper. ACS800 MultiDrive is a new all-digital drive system developed by the ABB corporation. The DC can export from the two common DC bus after the AC rectified, the DC can be changed into the AC by inverter unit, whose voltage and frequency is adjustable, the adjustable AC can control the speed of three-phase AC motor. Because of fewer electrical cabinets, small size and significant savings in energy sources, its application has already been more and more widely. The composition, principles and advantages of the ACS800 MultiDrive is firstly introduced, the rectifier and inverter units are mainly analyzed. Finally, as an example, the application of the ACS800 MultiDrive in the speed control of 3150/500 paper machine is introduced.
