Abstract :
Along with the widespread using of highway project measurement and payment system, a method was anxious for the highway project construction and supervision. The method was replace the traditional data processing method of using text database with the data visualization of combining graphics with data. The geographical Information System (GIS) was the key technology to solve this. In this paper, the three problems of the Application of GIS in the highway project measurement and payment are demonstrated emphatically: data characteristics, data organization, the spatial data and attribute data connection method. It supplied a feasible method for the application of highway project measurement and payment based on GIS.
