Abstract
From 1979 to 2008, economy in China has been developed rapidly and we will study the sources of China´s economic growth from the demand side in this paper. Firstly, we will present the theory and models of economy growth and then we will use a regional data set and spatial econometrics approach to verify that theory on economic growth are suitable in China during the sample period. Secondly, we will prove the validity of a demand-side approach. Finally, we will discuss the role of local governments in the development process in China.
