Abstract
Key negotiating and distribution protocols like SPINS, SNAKE, BROSK and SEKEN ensure secured communication between two communicating sensor nodes. Wireless Sensor Networks are resource constrained in terms of memory, processing and battery resources and hence there is a strong need to analyze these protocols for their energy efficiency in order to make an optimal selection. This paper evaluates SPINS, SNAKE, BROSK and SEKEN for their energy requirements in terms of battery power.
