Abstract
Due to the frequency reuse, Inter-cell interference is a main reason for performances degradation of cellular systems. Fractional frequency reuse is one of the several methods supported by 3GPP Long Term Evolutions systems for Inter-cell interference cancellation. The influence of fractional frequency reuse on system performances is already studied in the literature but mostly by computer simulations. This paper gives a contribution to analytical quantification of interference cancellation and SINR estimation in LTE. Also a cell coverage improvement is identified when using fractional frequency reuse instead of universal frequency reuse. These results can be useful to mobile network operators in dimensioning, planning and deployment of their LTE network.
