Abstract :
This paper presents a novel approach to measure RTT in a passive way. The measurement of RTT is performed during the connection close of a TCP session. The evaluation is performed by comparing the FIN-ACK RTT measurement with three measurement methods from literature. The results show that the approach is suitable to identify the RTT of network connections, further it is shown that most of the RTTs per flow are constant during the whole TCP connection time.
