  • Abstract
The differential phase shift, provided by two circular waveguides: the first - entirely and the second - partially filled with remanent ferrite of azimuthal magnetization, is calculated in normalized form for the normal TE01 mode. In the second transmission line the anisotropic load is of the shape of a toroid which takes up its outer area only, while its interior is occupied by dielectric. Furthermore, the relative permittivities of both strata are assumed equal. The results are obtained by means of an iterative approach, based on a repeated numerical solution of the relevant characteristic equations for varying parameters, and are presented graphically. The comparative analysis performed shows that for each of the structures considered the domain in which the phase shift is produced, is finite. Besides, its size, as well as the value and the sign of phase shift, depend on the degree of filling of the configuration by dielectric (if available) and on the magnitude of the off-diagonal ferrite permeability tensor element.
