Abstract :
Using the strong guide magnetic field approximation, an analytical expression for limiting current of a charged particle beam propagating in a coaxial drift chamber is obtained. We fulfill a comparative analysis of the obtained analytical expression for the limiting current with results of numerical simulations. The limiting current values in the coaxial and cylindrical drift chambers are confronted. We also study the limiting current dependence on the beam parameters and dimensions.
