  • Abstract
    A remote monitoring system for the light source of endoscope systems was developed. The light source is an essential part of endoscope system. To manage these light sources more efficiently, we proposed a remote monitoring system that provides information about the light sources of endoscope system dispersed in the hospital. The illumination and temperature data of each light source were sent to the local monitoring computer and the information like duration of lamp use, the frequency of lamp use, internal temperature of the device, and replacement time of the lamp were displayed and stored. This device enables the estimation the current condition of the lamp as well as optimal replacement time of the lamp. Furthermore, the calculation of accumulated data enables condition based management (CBM).
