Abstract :
The echo signal polluted by noise needs to be filtered in the ultrasound imaging system. However, the conventional fixed bandpass filter doesn´t work effectively, because the bandwidth and center frequency of the ultrasound echo signal is time-varying. The Adaptive filter with NLMS then is applied to resolve this problem. A method to evaluate its performance is also developed. Phantom experiment shows that adaptive filter with NLMS is able to enhance the SER (Signal Error Ratio) for about 8dB.
