Abstract :
By comparing existing motor driver fatigue monitoring methods, a fast algorithm to locate eye based on eye characteristics is proposed. More than one fatigue indicators are extracted by recognizing the state of eye, combined with facial fatigue indicator, a non-contact detection method based on image processing techniques for driver fatigue monitoring is proposed. Experimental results show that the method can quickly locate eyes with great accuracy, an extension of coverage, and evaluate the driver´s fatigue state through eye and face state characteristics with driver-friendly feature.
