Abstract :
A novel color structured light pattern design approach based on pseudo-random multi-valued sequence(PRMVS) for phase unwrapping is proposed, the technique can be employed to implement the phase unwrapping process for object existing discontinuous surface and isolate point/edge. The color structured light pattern is designed in HSV space, where the hue channel intensity is calculated applying pseudo-random multi-valued sequence, the value channel intensity is designed to change according to the sinusoidal curve, and saturation is set to a fixed value that lies in 0~1. To calculate the PRMVS, a shift function is firstly designed to deal with the shifting for input code, and then a new algorithm directly based upon linear feedback shift register is proposed to generate the PRMVS. To assure the dissimilarity of adjacent code within PRMVS, two methods is employed to deal with it, the one is that inserting a separate hue code to the median between two same hue code, and the other is that discarding the same hue code by software until the different one arriving. Experiment result approved the validity of the proposed approach.
