Abstract :
The paper deals with the principle of one-parameter plane family envelope for designing developable surface. It meets the common requirements of engineering fields. Then the paper presents the digital method of development for designed developable surface based on the principle of intrinsic geometry. It gives mathematical model of development through discretization of developable surface and digital result of development is obtained directly. The method makes it easy to develop developable surface and gives basis for CAD of development of developable surface in engineering fields.
