Abstract :
The phase spectrum of measured head-related transfer functions (HRTFs) inevitably embodies the phase characteristics of sound source. In this paper, the minimum-phase characteristic of some sound sources and its effects on measured HRTFs were discussed. The results indicate that some parts of sound source responses are non-minimum phase, hence proper equalization procedures are required in order to obtain the correct phase (and magnitude) response in measured HRTFs.
