Abstract :
Green vegetation is one of the most important factors which determine the structure and strength of ecological environment in mining areas. In this paper, taking Feicheng City, Shandong province for the research region, CBERS-02 images acquired in the year 2004 and 2007 were used to extract and analyze quantitatively the dynamic change of vegetation by the means of NDVI as well as dimidiate pixel model. The result showed that the vegetation coverage decreased slightly during the passed 4 years. However, the change was imbalance among different areas. Changes were mostly concentrated near mining areas because of mining subsidence and urban planning.
