  • Abstract
In this paper, a contrast enhancement algorithm based on double-threshold segmentation for LCD controller is proposed. The algorithm divides the image into background zone, transition zone and object zone by double-threshold segmentation based on Otsu´s threshold segmentation method. Two threshold points coming from double-threshold segmentation are used as control points of contrast adjust curve. The background and object zone of image can be stretch or compress respectively by adjusting the weight factor. It can get a better adjust effect for contrast of image. The emulation result shows that the proposed algorithm is easy to adjust, can obtain a better contrast adjustment effect, and have a better pertinency for image characteristic. So it is good fit for floating media image of LCD.
