  • Abstract
This paper proposes design and implementation of the distributed solar controller using modular buck converter which can operate in the Maximum Power Point (MPP) of any photovoltaic array. A simple, highly-performance algorithm suitable to be implemented in a low-cost analog controller has been developed in order to make photovoltaic arrays track and operate in their MPP. Parallel connection, multiple-string connection and load splitting connection of these modular buck converters are also proposed, which allows doing enlargements in the installation while keeping the regulators already installed. Experimental results confirm excellent tracking effectiveness and rapid dynamic response.
