Abstract :
In recent years, consumers of power energy pay more and more attentions on power supply quality, they demand high level supply quality. Therefore, the cost of power quality becomes a main issue to utility engineers when they consider power quality problems. For many industry customers, the main components of power quality costs are short interruption, voltage dips and harmonic costs. The data used to calculate these costs are from surveys. Base on these data, the PQ cost may not reflect the change with time of day. Obviously, the cost in peak demand time will be much more than the cost in low demand time. In this paper, a new coefficient for calculating time-varying PQ cost will be introduced into the traditional static calculation. With this coefficient, PQ cost will vary with real-time load demand, and offer more flexible choices to customers.
