Abstract :
VE aims to find solutions to reduce the cost based on the clients´ needs of function, which fits the demand of economic and efficient exploitation. Based on discussion of the possibility and necessity of application of Value Engineering in selection and improvement of technology projects for enterprises, this article made theoretical analysis on the application methods, then took an example of hydrate-preventing technology projects in gas field to further study on the application of VE. The article reached the conclusion that analysis on the overall value options in a technology project would help enterprises in decision making in technology selection, and by further analysis on matching degree of the function and cost in the function blocks, the function blocks which need improvement could be identified.
