Abstract :
With the development of information technology and network popularization, even a single department probably becomes a heterogeneous data source. For the reason of the incompatibility of among different data sources, it becomes difficult for using and updating a comprehensive information system. Therefore how to effectively integrate and analyze various kinds of heterogeneous data becomes a critical problem. In this article, we propose a new solution based on XML (eXtensible Markup Language) and middleware technology. We also design and implement the prototype of the general integration framework in a concrete application example, the UIIS (University Integrated Information System), which demonstrates our solution can well solve the problems of diversity and incompatibility in different data sources.
