Abstract
Abstract- There were many problems such as low purity, high cost in traditional technology of ferrate production. Now a new craft about producing high purity, low cost ferrate was researched. First, divalent iron (FeSO4) as raw material preparation was oxidized to prepare Fe2O3, then regarding Fe2O3 as iron source to make ferrate by oxidizing hypochlorite; The ferrate salts were mixed with different concentrations of sodium halogenating reagent, and preservated with low-temperature in dark place, the decompositions of the ferrate salts were compared by the absorbances. The results showed that the synthesized rate reached the highest of 52.85%, when reaction temperature was 40°C, original concentration of FeSO4 was 0.25mol / L and the value of pH was 4.5. Moreover, the purity of ferrate was 95.10% through the method of Fe2O3. I-,Br-on FeO42-ions accelerate decomposition;Cl-,F- inhibitory effect on the FeO42-;The best preservation result was to make dry ferrate in closed containers. The technology of preparing ferrate by divalent iron had higher purity, lower production costs and provided effective foundation for the realization of practical applications. During the storage of solution should be avoided the presence of I-,Br-;Solids in storage should be placed in airtight containers.
