Abstract
Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a linear programming methodology to measure the efficiency of multiple decision-making units (DMUs) when the production process presents a structure of multiple inputs and outputs. It excludes the subjective factors and has been applied in many areas. This paper is mainly focused on the input-output efficiency appraisal of key industries of Hebei province based on modern industrial system. It first introduces the basic principle of DEA. Then, it constructs the index of inputs and outputs. In the end, it carries a case study on twenty typical industries of Hebei province by means of the software DEA Solver 3.0, through which the efficiency and effectiveness of the method is tested.
