Abstract
This paper reviews the research advances and present problems of ecological sustainable development index system based on comprehensive survey of domestic and overseas study and practice progress of ecological livestock breeding. Aiming to boost the sustainable development of ecological livestock industry, a comprehensive index system of sustainable development capability of ecological livestock breeding industry consisting of 24 indexes in four classification layers, namely, ecological benefits, economic benefits, social benefits and external environment supporting system, based on the contribution analysis of livestock breeding industry system, is hereby designed in this paper to evaluate and position the sustainable development of livestock breeding industry in a scientific and objective way.
