  • Abstract
In order to study how to reduce the creep of prestressed concrete beams by construction methods, in this paper, two tools are employed - laboratory tests and finite element modeling .In laboratory test, four of scale 1:6 specimen was produced based on some practical projects, and different prestressing program is designed. By comparing the twice tensile influence on the creep of prestressed concrete beams, focus on the prestressed loss, beam deflection, beam cross-section of concrete strain, beam curvature effects, etc. It is proved that methods of twice tensile for reducing creep are effective and feasible. Moreover, twice tension and once tension is compared with vertical deformation at the same period of time by the finite element model. At the end of this paper, it is proved again that the construction method of the twice tension can significantly reduce the creep of prestressed concrete beams.
