Abstract :
Abstract--This article is based on H.264/AVC video coding standard, including analysis of the current UMHexagonS algorithm processes and problems, Optimization of the entire pixel search algorithm UMHexagonS and an improved sub-pixel search algorithm, and gives the improved UMHexagonS algorithm process ,describes its advantages. Experimental results show the improved efficiency of the algorithm, practical value and impetus of the improved coding standard of H.264/AVC UMHexagonS algorithm to implementation and application of H.264/AVC coding standard. Motion estimation algorithm is very diverse and can be divided into four categories: Recursive estimation algorithm, optical flow method, Bayesian estimation, block matching algorithm. One result of block matching motion estimation algorithm is widely used for simple and easy to realize the advantages of VLSI, UMHexagonS is a kind of commonly used block matching algorithm. UMHexagonS (Unsymmetrical-cross Multi-Hexagon-grid Search) is a good performance, wide application of fast motion estimation algorithm. In this paper, after the initial search point and search window improvements, the algorithm is analyzed, studied and improved again.
