  • Abstract
This paper summarizes three failure models of pre-stressed pipe pile under horizontal load. From the view of reliability, the author has established corresponding performance functions of two failure models. And on the basis of functions, various factors affecting the reliability of pile´s bearing capacity are analyzed. After calculation of four field examples, the results reveal that the thickness of wall, spacing between stirrups, percentage of steel, the load´s mean level and its´ variability are main factors that affect the horizontal bearing capacity of elastic pipe pile. Different models lead to different reliability indexes. The one has smallest reliability index is most likely to fail.
